Need trailer help

I am needing to get my Spyder to the dealer for service because it is in the "limp mode". Needing to know how you get your bike onto a trailer with a drop down gate. When i try and put my bike on the nose wants to hit before my wheels go on. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Depending on high the nose needs to raised for clearance you will need to get the front tires up higher before the nose contacts the trailer ….. Im 'positive 10 ft. will work ….However I think you can start at 3 ft.....it all depends on the angle of the drop down ramp …… Mike :ohyea:

If it is only a small amount try raising the tongue, this lowering the rear of trailer.

Park the trailer with the wheels in the street gutter, or on some sort of slope. That way the ramp gate will be closer to level with the bed.

Just a reminder: Whatever method you use, be sure that it can be replicated at the dealer. If you use long boards and they do not have them, they might be inclined to just back the bike off the trailer! In some cases, you are responsible for taking the bike off the trailer so the dealer does not take responsibility for moving it.

Several ideas to reduce the ramp angle: 1. Put a 2x4 under the back edge of the ramp, park the trailer so that the wheels are in a low spot. 2. With the trailer hooked up, raise the tongue jack as far as it will go (yeah, you'll be lifting your vehicle a bit) 3. Abort the ramp altogether and use longer ones that have an arch to them. 4. Put 2 2x6 boards where your front wheels will ride up the ramp. This will elevate the front. 5. Put some 2x6 boards down on the ground in front of the ramp approach for the front wheels to run on.
