A few days ago I decided to take a ryde and planned a short trip about 200miles. So checked oil, gas, tire pressure got geared up and took off. About 20 miles down the road I stopped at the Viejas Casino / outlet for a bite before I headed to the hills towards an old mining towm Julian via the Sunrise Hwy. So after I had lunch I got ready to go and got the dreaded "click" Quick check and sure enough not gonna start. No problem as I have my jumper pack. :roflblack: not enough power left to get her turned over. Went back to the casino and put it on the charger and gave it time to charge. Seems not enough and it was even worse when I tried to jump it again. Asked maintenance who said the only one with a jumper was the tribal security who they called for me. They arrive and after filling out paper work and proof of ownership etc he gets his bigger jumper pack only to find that it had no charge either. :roflblack: Another unit rolled up and he got out an even bigger jumper pack with what seems were 3" cables...:roflblack: finally got the thing under the seat and got the giant aligator clamps to make contact and she purred like a kitten....Seems somebody had been on the spyder maybe for a photo op :dontknow: but turned on my spot and fog lights that killed the battery :banghead: Well went on home and by then the battery was back to life but I ran out of time for the ryde....So from now on I will check the jumper pack and switch my lights to after ignition....:dontknow:

Ouch! I hate when that happens....

I have ridden out to Julian and beyond several times when I had my Monster or Thruxton down there with me, when visiting the fam in Canyon Lake. Do you go on thru Julian and run the 78 out to Ocatillo Wells? That road is simply amazing. Not sure if I ever ended up on Sunrise Hwy (S1)....

That we have all the way to the Salton Sea. Sunrise runs into 79 about 6miles out of Julian. Most times on the short run we will just take the 78 back thru Ramona. All great roads the 76.78.79, 0ld 80 Old 94 just to mention a few. Great place to ryde....:2thumbs:

Your troubles go back to some inconsiderate jerk messing with your ryde. Haven't had any big problems other than a "friend" dragging my RT-S out of Ir's parking spot at work not knowing about the parking break. I made the mistake of leaving the key in it when I ran into the office. Would not have helped the parking brake if he managed to take off on it. What is it that makes people think they have the right to do such things? I have more respect for another person's property than they do, I guess.

Did the Julian circle trip on the Yuma Ryde-In a couple of months ago. Beautiful road trip. Glad everything eventually worked out for you. Too bad some people have to look with their hands..... Jim

Always hit the kill switch when parked as an extra precaution but it does not help with the electrics. Just need to switch to an after ignition power source....

You might want to consider rewiring those lights so that they do not go on without the ignition on. For accessories, I'm going to get a fuse block that is energized only with the ignition on.

On my 2015 RTS in the right side fuse box F6 is switch powered, F7 is always on for the accessory plugs. Changing the fuse position, not in both.
