Hi all,
Looking for some advice on storing a second Spyder. Right now we've got both vehicles and our current F3 in the garage but there isn't room for the second F3 we are planning on getting (nice problem to have right?). I really don't want to keep my truck outside, always been garaged its entire life and the wife isn't putting hers outside. Please... I know many will say it's just a truck and the Spyders deserve the garage and for many that's true but I'm looking for real practical advice from those who may be keeping their Spyders in shed, bike barn etc.
Thanks in advance....

HI frj322,

I am in Vermont, and I store my spyder at a local dealership( from Oct. to April). But some one who stores there spyder in a shed or a bike barn should chime in.

Also check with your motorcycle insurance company/or policy on how they handle/or deal with spyder storage.

I keep my 2 wheeler motorcycle along with all the other small engine toys wintered in my garage. In the past, with no garage, I had to rent a storage building. Sometime in the near future when I get my F3, I plan on building a shop big enough to house them all. If I hit a snag, I may just get another storage shed - they always come in handy.

Would depend on your outside space and budget. There are many storage units you can get giving you space to store stuff in the garage allowing for both to be in there, or a single for the extra spyder or a double large for both spyders and more space in the garage. Check online or home depot or those shed storage places to see your options. Happy hunting....:thumbup:9

There are these types, if space is limited....

For the first 2 years I owned my F3 it stayed in a Shelter Logic storage building. Last summer after adding a second Spyder I had a "spyder barn" built on the same location where my Shelter Logic was.

Thanks for the replies so far folks, please keep them coming! Yes, I do want to keep the second Spyder at home for every day use. I'm curious about the shelter logic storage system. How durable and user friendly was it?

The Shelter Logic was good - we had added a wooden floor for it. After 3 years there were some holes coming in the top - wear from the sun but the frame and rest of the canvas was in good shape and it endured some very strong winds, rain, and snow. If I still only had one Spyder I would have put a tarp on the top and continued to use it. The front door was a roll up door which I liked.

I am a little unconventional and always looking for a bargain. But I have been able to find some great deals on smaller sheds (8x8, or 10x10) on craigslist and also on the Marketplace on facebook. Sometimes you can find them for around $500. It is easy to have a tow truck company pick it up and move it to your location. The key is to inspect it closely and make sure that it is stable and will survive the move. I came across a sweet deal on an 8x8 rubbermaid one for around $400 once. I didn't need it at the time, but really wish I had bought it. You can also look into a cheap, used enclosed trailer.. I did pick up a 6x12 enclosed, with dual axles for $800.
