torx head bolts

Anyone know where I can buy some M6 x1 black bolts, like the ones used on body panels. I have tried to find at a number on local hardware and auto parts store and they don't have.

Try Granger or even better MSC industrial supply. Mcmaster-Carr is another good choice. https://www.mcmaster.com/metric-torx-screws All those suppliers will need you to buy a box and + shipping. BUT I laways go to Amazon for a quick look.
