As you begin the descent, you are riding right along the Tennessee River. And, that was very cool!
Back at the hotel – 135 miles later; we decided to park the Spyder and have dinner at the ‘Terminal Brewhouse’ next door to the hotel. And, that was a great choice. Jean began the evening with the Belgian Wit (wheat). And, I began with their IPA (India Pale Ale), and enjoyed their most delicious, Oatmeal Stout with a steak sandwich. Jean had the pork loin. It was all quite good.
Monday morning, we headed out of Chattanooga about 9:00. We decided to just have coffee, and grab breakfast down the road. We took the interstate (24) until we could find Hwy 64 west. So, we really mixed up the route. And, like I mentioned previously, some of 64 is 2 lane; some is 4 lane. And, actually; some is interstate. It can actually be very confusing. I got turned around once – heading south; not west! But, that was okay, too! We got back to the house at about 4:45pm Monday afternoon. About 1 hour after we arrived, another big rain came to Oakland.

The Trip: 835.3 miles in all. J The Spyder: Simply wonderful! My current mileage: 13,700 miles – 8 months, 3 weeks. My thoughts: The finest machine that I have ever owned.

Very cool story. Back in the mid 70's I lived in Harrison a ways outside of Chattanooga just about a 5 minute walk from the Tennessee river. Lived on Champion Rd off of Hwy 58. Beautiful country back then. I imagine it is still a beautiful place. The first 6 months I lived there I lived in a bus at Chickamauga Lake. I had just turned 18 while on the road to get there from southern California. Again, nice story, sounds like you had a great ride.

Sounds like a great trip!

If you ever get to Michigan I can take you on Michigan Breweries tour--- Bells, New Holland, Arcadia, Dark Horse, Michigan Brewing, Shorts, Dragonmead, Founders, plus many more.

If you're into great micro-brews--- Michigan has some of the best in the world. Sounds like you had some great scenery on your trip!
