Hi Folks, what's your opinions on traveling in the rain, be it riding or open trailering, do to the fact that the air filter and CVT filter are likely to get soaked with the ram air effect of the huge air scoops on each side. :dontknow: cueman

Shouldn't be an issue.

Why not? :dontknow: Seems like a hard rain ride would soak the paper filters. That can't be good for them. cueman

I don't have a Ryker, but if it is of such a design that riding in the rain is going to be an issue I sure don't want one. My Triumph Trophy had the scoop in the front under the headlight and I never had any issues riding in the rain. It picked up a tater chip bag one time and refused to run correctly until I checked the scoop and found the blockage, but never an issue in the rain.

No problem.

Isn't it the same scoop and filter used in the Sea-do's?

I honestly don't know. I've been caught in some down pours on my other bikes and can't help but think with those huge air scoops that it will take in much water. Maybe it's a non issue. I was hoping that some one has experienced this info. and could confirm. cueman

They do consider the possiblity that you will get caught in the rain and even a downpour. I have never had a issue but don't have a ryker.
