View Full Version : Ryker Tool Kit for Distance riders

Since it's really crappy/snowy here in Western Pennsylvania and I can't ride the Ryker I assembled a Tool kit for when I travel south to visit my daughter. It has the 65mm wheel socket (529036457) for if I have to remove the wheel and a garage/tire shop doesn't have it. Inside a small, waterproof utility case (64550 harbor freight $14.99) in layer one I have the 65mm socket and the two clutch tools (529000088 and 708200720) to open up the upper clutch sheave for a belt change. (Note: the clutch driven open tool has a 30 hex socket end built right into it) Also, I added a 10mm wrench, a 10mm deep 3/8" socket, a 13mm 3/8" shallow socket, and a 13mm ratcheting wrench The second layer includes a 3/8" drive ratchet, a push pin puller and a bolt to hold the front wheel from turning if I need to use the 65mm socket. The third layer includes a tire plug kit and a co2 cartridge to fill a flat tire (co2 cartridge not shown). It all fit into the 9"x8"x5" box!
Once I add the collapsable 1/2"drive breaker bar (which will not fit in the box) to the spare belt i have the ability to fix a tire, remove a wheel, and do a complete belt change. I actually went ahead and removed the belt cover and opened up the clutch just to make sure that i had every tool necessary for the job. It took me about an hour to open up and 20 minutes to buckle it back up. The snowmobiller in me made me do this as every sledder carries a spare belt and a tool to put it on.

Here is my travel set up. I can add a bag on top of the saddleman trunk if need be.

What vendor do the tool part numbers correspond to? How will you remove the split ring?

Whoops has memory failed me, thought the Ryker was a shaft drive. Maybe I dreamed it.....

The Ryker is shaft drive. The belt he is referring to is in the CVT transmission

:congrats: & all, but WHERE/how do you carry it? With the nxt to nothing storage on the stock Ryker & it's not really a long distance bike so all you need should be close enough right?

Some people need a ton of storage, others can ride across the country with a backpack. If you look at my bike picture above you'll see the side bag and a saddleman seat bag. The kit is really small, so I can put it all in one side compartment of the seat bag and use the rest for me. Perfect for the next 1600 mile trip (whenever the weather allows)

The belt guards on the sleds have a molded area for spare belt storage. Does the Ryker belt guard have a spare belt storage area?

Thanks for the legwork and the set up. You have come up with a nice kit for the ryker ryders that venture out. :bowdown: Seems pretty complete and folks can take the info here a build a kit of thier own...:thumbup:

Nice Toolkit. Better to have and not need - then to need and not have.
