Hi Folks,
I am going to probably purchase a drive belt tensioner for my 2017 RTL. Has anyone bought one?? From who? Did it help? Seems to have a vibration (feels like underside) when approaching 70 MPH.

Also going to switch out front tires to car style. Thoughts

Thank's in advance,

Johnny Canuck

Doc Humphreys dampener. He is a supporting vendor here. Quality product with good easy to follow installation instructions.

installed doc Humphrey's belt tensioner and took my 2014 RTL out for a test ride. Before the install, I had a vibration at 72 MPH. On the test ride, I drove in 1 mile increments from 70 to 80 and it rode smooth as silk.

I also did not change the belt tension as it tracked perfectly and I didn't want to mess with it

What does belt vibration feel ike? We have about 6,000 miles on so far and it seems like it rides ok to us. Or maybe it is just me no knowing what to feel/listen for. I am sure it is probably vibrating but just wondering. Thnaks guys

mine was just a vibration that could be felt on the bike. At 72 mph the belt would start harmonics similar to a tire out of balance. A little slower or a little faster and it would go away

Hi glory,

Sure sounds like belt harmonics to me. Your could try lowering the belt tension as some here have said it helps. I have Doc's tensioner and it works PERFECT.
