A true sign of an early fall for us. The Moose (mother and yearling)were back in the yard yesterday. They spent most of the day laying on the freshly cut grass, and occasionally finding a shady spot in my woods.

Turns out they were on a mission. By evening, when I came home from the University, the yearling was peeking at my car from around the garage. After I went in the house, both started harvesting the crab apple trees. A yearly event, and I grow the apples just for them.

I did not take any new pictures. It's the same family--but they were down one member. Early spring, one of the yearlings got hit by a car on our road. The Police "dispatched" the fallen moose (shot) and it was hauled off to the "food program."

No Moose here in central Utah but we do have Deer. Since the Crab Apples have not started to drop here, the Deer are still just munching on the grass. ANother week or so and they will drop and then we will have them in the yard munching away
