I was too young to remember football in the 60's, but watching this I can see it was far more gritty than it is now. I mean, look at those crude helmets. They scream "We no need no head protection". :shocked: And those mud encrusted uniforms are like...storm troopers going from trench to trench.

And the "ice" bowl. It was 40 below one time. Lombardi was in a thin coat and a fedora. It appeared the cold had no effect on him. :yes:
