Country Spyder Poll #2:

I just got back from running the Dragon and had a blast!!! Now we are working on our next trip and I thought.....no better place to start than with all of you. Let me know your suggestions and ideas. 1 condition:

1.) I only have a 6 days for the trip and living in Ohio, so that basically limits us to the east side of the Rockies...

As always thanks in advance!!!

Ever do the Michigan lakeshore? There are some really nice rides at various spots. Someone else suggested to me to do a Lake Michigan circle tour (Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan) that is still on my todo list.

Have you toured eastern part of West Virginia? Some of the greatest roads I've ever traveled and since I live in North Carolina I've ridden a lot of great roads in the Western NC mountains including Deals Gap many times.

West Virginia encourages motorcylists. Pocahontas county has their own website with motorcycle specific info: (http://www.pocahontascountywv.com/motorcycle_touring.aspx).
Everyone is motorcycle friendly; motels, restaurants, etc. The Old Clark Inn (www.oldclarkinn.com (http://www.oldclarkinn.com)) in Marlinton is owned by a couple of bikers and is a great place for your headquarters. Great people and they offer extra amenities for bikers. Watch out for deer around Canaan Valley area.

Are you familiar with Mad Maps (www.madmaps.com (http://www.madmaps.com)). Great touring maps when you are new to an area. They have one that includes Ohio, Ky & WV for $10.95 ... worth the money.

Have you ever run Hwy 16 from Marietta, OH into NC to the Blue Ridge Parkway. An awesome road but do it during the week because traffic gets heavy on the weekends. Perhaps a loop down Hwy 16 to BRP over to VA and up into West Virginia and then hwy 20 back into Ohio?

Let us know where you go and of course we will want a ride report and pictures!!!

Done parts of this ride, and it really is nice. Always looking for new place's to stop and see or stay at. Milwaukee has the HD museum and a new biker hotel - Iron Horse, about 2 blocks from the HD museum. Green Bay or up into Door county is also very nice. UP in Michigan has some very nice camp sites right on the lake.
