Installed last week 2 sets NMN L.E.D.'s brake lights (the first one was promptly replace with overnight Saturday delivery). These are the results:

1. Evoluzione Triple Play with NMN LED tail lights #1: working for the first 4 minutes; after that trigger Limp Mode (tail lights #1 still working).
2. No Triple Play with NMN LED tail lights #1: instant VSS error. Tail lights still working.
3. No Triple Play with NMN LED tail lights #2: same as above.
4. NMN Triple Play with NMN tail lights #1 or #2: same as above.
5. NMN Triple Play with original tail lights: both working.
6. Evoluzione Triple Play with original tail lights: both working.
Something in the main Spyder circuit is triggering the error. :gaah: :helpsmilie:

My setup works fine as you know. I think maybe not all Spyders are the same or maybe NM got a bad batch of components but I do know that he is working to duplicate and resolve this problem.

What about the reversed wiring on the Spyder that many of us have noticed - perhaps that is throwing things for a loop?

:gaah: Had a wack of trouble with reversed wiring on the :spyder2:. You would think that all the wiring would be the same.

I'm guessing it's about the same as a "heap" :dontknow::doorag:

Just curious do you also have HID head and fog lights?

try starting and running without fog lights on, or just give NMN a call. Mine had same symptoms but was actually the HID fog causing fault the ballast would produce a magnetic pulse at start up occasionally but after a few hours of use the problem is almost all gone IMO the ballast just needs to be (seasoned) broke-in and the pulse gets less

Thanks to NMN  my Spyder electric circuit "problem" is the McCruise electronic CC. Current draw while the cruise is switched on, but not engaged, is 0.250 amp (3 watts); when cruises is engaged is nominally 0.5-0.8 amp (6-10 Watts). By comparison, a head light bulb typically draws about 4 amps (55 Watts) and a tail light bulb (running light) draws about 0.4 amp (5 Watts). A solution is in the work.

Anyone care to briefly describe which electrical circuits are "monitored by the system" - I suppose those that when something is detected the Spyder goes into convulsions?

While it is unlikely that both tail lights would crap out at the same time none the less why put the Spyder into limp mode (if I understand that correctly - I may not) instead of throwing all sorts of codes lighting up the dash, etc.

Wat was the design rationale behind that?

So, say, if one wanted to install a Pingle or Klicktronic shifter - install instructions aside - I guess a relay on a switched source with the relay fused direct to the battery or maybe through an add-on power bus?

Pete

The ONLY things I've found so far that are not "monitored" are the fender tip lights and the accessories I've added through the additional fuse box and relays.

Thanks to  Lamonster, NMN, Repops, effgjamis and Joe Sears from spoiledbiker.com (http://www.spoiledbiker.com)the Spyder is back on track with the NMN L.E.D. tail lights, triple play and McCruise working in harmony without any "Limp Mode" :doorag:

What is this part, please? I pulled up this thread because I have been getting an intermittent transmission error message since installing MC Cruise control on my wife's 2011 RSS this past weekend. I have the kit mod that allows for LED lights since we have the led taillights in her Givi bags. I am trying to figure out what may be wrong. Any help appreciated. -Mike

it is a 33 ohm, 10 watt resistor

Thanks for this information. Does anyone know from the earlier part of this discussion about where this resistor was placed to solve the electrical problem related to the MC Cruise on a bike with LED's?
