it is very cool
If you like older stuff and you would enjoy it. I say go for it.
Those who ask why do not understand.
You don't need it.
But no one who has a Spyder needs it either.

As a collector's item it is sweet fully restored. Maybe for those into vintage races, or nostalgic rides... How's that VW...?? :dontknow:

 I'm not the guy that you need whispering in your ear... 163042
Having said that:
We had one of the first Nordics: they came out in 1969, and had a 370cc, 22 hp. engine.
In 1971: they changed to a polycarbonate hood, and put the 24 hp. 399 cc engine in them!
They were a really nice machine for that time! nojoke

This one looks pretty dang excellent; but I wonder a bit about why the belt is riding so low in the secondary clutch?

A thought just occurred to me: Can the "Boa Dude": ride a Ski Doo?

If that's your thing go for it! :)

I had a thing for Yamaha Sno-scoots for a while, bought some, fixed some, sold some. Done with them now but it was fun for a while.

Did you ever have any of the 125 cc Sno-Sport models?
We had our Son on a Sno-Scoot (80 cc), back when he was about 5. That little machine would run 35 mph with him on it! :yikes:

Orright Bob, I can see that you're not gonna be whispering in his EAR from down there under the chair.... but just what is it you are planning on whispering into from down there??

Back on topic - Roger, I can't really help you either! That is one really nice looking Ski-Doo!! :firstplace:

Still, if only we regularly got enough snow down here in Aus to make one of them worthwhile, you wouldn't need to worry at all, cos I'da bought it already & it'd be heading this way right now!! What a great looking machine!! :2thumbs:

I might even have an Owner's manual for a Nordic...
(But it's probably for the 1969 model...)

Two issues with any older vehicle:

- Parts availability
- Reliable mechanic who knows how to fix old stuff

That's a very nice Nordic, museum quality actually. Wish they had before and after, side by side photos which would show how much work goes into a project like this. As with any restoration, you almost never see a profit on your time and materials. This is probably priced right for the market at 3900 IMO.

Good observation on the drive belt in the secondary. They stopped making belts for this model many years ago. Looks like a current belt similar in size and shape to the original was added. Otherwise, this is what they looked like on the showroom floor 48 years ago.

:D Parts is easy... Back then: Bombardier owned over half of the market: there were well over 100 manufacturers back then.
There are salvage yards of unimaginable sizes that cater to just this sort of thing!

As far as knowing how to fix them: :roflblack:

They are laughably simple, and easy to work on! This is a parallel twin two-stroke; with a CVT drivetrain: it doesn't get any simpler than that!
(We were taking them apart as kids!

You know you want it Roger. Don't do a "Wow, I coulda hadda V-8" (the veggie drink commercial) to yourself.:yes:

Just listen to that voice in your head--and do it. :roflblack::roflblack:

Well I'm over it.
I submitted an offer that was rejected.
All for the best.
You see the Nordic came out about the time that I first saw Linda Rondstadt.
And well, things can get confused in the head of a 66 year old boy.

if money was a factor, as it would have any significant impact on my life or the lives of people I care about then it wouldn't even be a question.
Nice of you to presume though.

Never had a sno sport. its just amazing how far ahead of their time the sno scoots were. First rider forward design, full tube frame that was very stable. Perfect size for young riders, complete out of the box thinking. Sure, they had some faults, not real good in deep snow, not real comfy rear suspension but they actually taught you how to ride. Not like the 120 sleds.

To help out in the deep stuff: we added 1" polymer "cleats" to the track.
It mad a world of difference!
(The kid could also throw some top-notch roosts! :2thumbs:)

Hey Bob it's still available. They turned down 3400.

That is a... fair price; but I'd ask them about the drivebelt's positioning on the secondary clutch: it's riding rather "low"...
It's not getting down into it's lowest possible "gearing", and it might just "bog" coming off of the line.
(Like starting out in second gear...)
Other than that: I saw nothing of concern...
(from the pictures anyway...)
