Phone has a 3 second delay from the person called

When i I call my house or anyone else,I have a 3 second delay hearing the response. I have used 3 different smart phones. My new Iphone has the best response time at 3 seconds . My old phones varied form 5 to 8 seconds. Any body ever come across this problem?

I get that sometimes with some calls. Could be cell service area or carrier...:dontknow: I have AT&T on a Samsung Galaxy phone and all good...:thumbup:
