Saw that Cycle Gear is running a closeout special on a two-pack of Sena 20s units, $349.99 for the pair. I've been leaning toward the Sena over the alternatives, and that's the lowest price I've seen thus far. Happy to entertain rants/raves on Sena vs. others, but mostly curious about your views on the price -- should I take the plunge or wait? I assume new capabilities and price points are on the horizon in their lineup, but I think the 20s is going to do what I need.

(And happy to have someone point me to an even better price for that model! :-)

Call Motorcycle Dave. He has Sena units at the best prices I have ever seen and he is great to deal with. Dave is a sponsor here on the site.

Appreciate the helpful tip -- I did reach out to Dave, and unfortunately he is sold out on that unit, which helps to confirm that this really might be a closeout. Wound up buying the 20s from Cycle Gear, and got everything rigged up on my helmet yesterday. Now to perform the delicate surgery on my better half's helmet...

Based on Dave's prices for the 20s EVO and the 30K, however, I'm sure he could have saved me some money, so I'll start there in the future.

We have a pair of 20s and we like them. Agree with others, check with Dave. The reviews of the 30K suggest the main improvement is for larger group riding. If you don't need this then the 20s is likely a good solution for you. If you get them I suggest you first begin by checking the firmware level and upgrading if not the latest version. Your package will contain instructions on how to easily do this.

Yep, first thing I did -- ok, the second; had to link my phone to it and make sure it worked... :-)

FWIW to any 20S owners, the current version of the firmware is 1.76.

If you are thinking about buying the Sena 20s, get the older unit while they are still available at a great price. The newer EVO unit is acutally a downgrade. MUCH shorter battery life and has the same issues for group riding. The 20s work well in pairs though. The older 20S will go about 12 hrs on a full charge continuous use where the EVO will only go 8 so does not make a full day riding.

Spend an extra 50 and get the 30K for 399.

I've heard the 20S is fine if you only have 2 sets paired, more than that and the sound gets choppy and knocks and clicks.

20S are discontinued I would go with the 20S Evo

If you can still find the original 20S, its the better unit. The evo was a significant reduction in battery capacity and no real change in capability.

This is very true. The more sets you add the worse it gets. At 4 or 5 they are nearly unusable.
