We got a total of about 7" of snow, but at the time of these pictures, there was only about 5" on the ground. Needless to say, the F3T did not good at all in the snow. But a few years earlier, I took my RT out, and it did much better. I actually posted a video on facebook that my daughter shot of me trying to get up a slight hill on my driveway. I ended up having to shovel a path to get back into the garage. The back tire had no traction at all.157742157743157744

On our way home from southern CA. we spent a night in Lakeview OR. We left about an hour after I took this photo when the roads warmed up. We had patches of snow and ice for about 40 miles then the roads cleared up.

A chain may give better grip on the rear wheel which has a tendency to spin on ice or snow. The two front wheels act more as plows. Chains--IMO--would just make that situation worse.

Chains are for "low speed" operation. If they come apart during operation--damage could result.

I wont ride my Spyders in winter conditions. The manual says don't. You also get to play dodgeball with other vehicles out of control. When the black ice comes out--mine are parked.

Others can and will do what they want. It's your Spyder.:bowdown:
