How Solid are the mounts, Can you push down on the front end of the armrests without them flexing or breaking loose?

I installed mine 3 weeks ago... the install was a pretty basic job just requiring the rear body panel, passenger backrest and armrest/speaker side panels be removed. The only part that is replaced is the soft cushion part on top of the armrest/speaker panel. If you have a stock passenger backrest it's a real simple job...but if you have a custom seat, I have an Ultimate, it may require some additional work so that the seat lines up flush with the back wall of the trunk. (otherwise there will be a 1/4" to 1/2" gap)

Excellent build quality with little to no flex when pressing down on the front of the armrests. Both armrests flip-up and can remain in either the up or down position while on the road.
The wife loves them  think the added cushion that the Ultimate seat provides raises her up high enough to not poise a height problem for her.

Hoping you can help here. I just got my new ultimate seat and passenger backrest today but the passenger backrest is not fitting - as I also have the BRP armrests. What did you have to do to get this combination to work. I've fiddled for the last couple of hours to no avail.

Thanks!

Hi Reed, I think I can help...this is what I did to eliminate the gap.
#1 - I used a hot knife to reduce the width of the anchor by approx 1/2”.
#2 - I cut away the excess seat molding material and shaped it to fit snugly into the anchor assembly.

I’ve attached the before and after pics.

Hope this helps!

Installed my armrests Wensday and wife likes.them.so far. I went for a short ride yesterday and twice the armrests would flip up when going 70 MPh. Not a big deal. Armrests are fairly straight forward to install.

I took my time, about 1.5 hrs. My swollen ankle kept me in check. You will notice there are 2 different bolt lengths. Installation instructions could.have better pics, but the install is pretty straightforward. Good luck. Bruce

This is perfect! I was wondering if those little guys were the issue but since i had my armrests installed the day i got the bike, i didn't know for sure if they were stock or part of the armrest piece. This answers it clearly. I've also reached out to Ultimate to see what they have to say but I know this answer is right and my query to them will probably just let them know there's an issue for BRP armrests.

Thanks again!

Reed

Many thanks to all who did this already and posted their experience, I ordered and today installed these and gotta say, the hardest part for me was the @#$@#%^ Antenna.
She who must be obeyed has already tried and approved the feel and comfort. Looking forward to a Mother's day long ride.
Whilst checking them out I think I did see where the hinge of the flip up portion could be tightened up if you wanted to.
I really liked the integrated support that slipped behind the backrest.

The wife loves them we had the dealer install them though, but they look like they great. Just wish I could get the wife to get her license so i can fall a sleep back there:sour: at the same time we had the custom dynamics third brake light installed and it looks great also. I am so afraid to tear into things afraid I will do more harm than good. But we or should I say she loves them.

Rode to the dealer yesterday to see if they had the armrests in stock and to my surprise they did. The armrests felt pretty solid. I paid for a pair and scheduled an install for next Thursday.
