I'm looking at getting a Cooper CS5 Grand Touring Radial Tire - 215/60R15 94T for my 2014 RTS. Specs look good. $76.42 at both sites. I like the 11/32s tread depth. Deeper than most new tires. Anyone have any experience with them?

I've been running the General Altimax RT43 but it's bald in the center at about 17,000 miles. Probably should have been running lower air pressure. I've been having it at about 24-25 psi.

Someone else has tried this tire, but I can't remember who :banghead: .... It's listed as a very high mileage tire so it may have a stiff ride ......... and as to the Altimax 24-25psi is pretty high for a tire on a Spyder that weighs 1150 lbs.. I now have 35,000 + on my Michelin and it still has ride-able tread. I run that at 17psi.. The Altimax & Michelin have almost identical specs including performance, so if your Altimax is worn in the middle, I think the psi had something to do with that ...... good luck ....Mike

I was between the Cooper and General when I had my rear tire changed at Spyderquest. The Cooper should do a good job.

I'm the one running the Cooper CS5 Ultra Tour on my 2014RT (I'm at 41k miles and counting so far) and I'm very happy with the tire. It does everything I ask of it and does it well.

Some have expressed concerns because of the high mileage rating (being a hard compound tire), but so far (about a year and 10k miles) it handles well and wears well. I've run it all over the Western US and Canada without a hiccup. I've tried the General, Kumho, and one other brand I can't remember now, and wasn't impressed with any of them. However, I do highly recommend this tire.

Coopers are the only brand I run on my pickup trucks. I would really consider one for my Spyder. Terrific millage and traction.

I have no experience with Coopers on a Spyder,But I have used them on cars and been very happy with them.

That is a good looking tire and should do well on your Spyder. Let us know your experience.
