BRP Opens a Headquarters for its North American Market in Texas to Fuel its Growth
VALCOURT, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 16, 2017)

In order to fuel its growth, global powersports leader BRP (TSX:DOO) will establish a headquarters for its North American market in Plano, in the Dallas, Texas area, early next year.

"We are transforming our business model to get closer and better connected to our largest market," says Sandy Scullion, BRP's senior vice-president and general manager, Global Retail and Services. "BRP and its brands are performing very well in the market right now and we're eager to build on this important growth catalyst."

The new headquarters for North America will play a key role in several functions for BRP, including Sales, Marketing, Dealer Services, Finance, and Human Resources.

"We will bring together management and staff from different departments in Texas to create multidisciplinary teams. We are significantly changing our go-to market operating model and creating a fully dedicated North American business unit that will allow BRP to better support its dealers and customers," added Scullion.

Texas was an excellent choice for BRP's North American headquarters: it is centrally located in the United States and is part of a wider region that represents a key market for the company. BRP already has a strong U.S. footprint with its Evinrude outboard manufacturing site in Wisconsin.

Canadian dealers will also benefit from the new structure through improved service while maintaining their relationship with BRP representatives based in Canada, where BRP's global headquarters is located.

I doubt it.
This was reported long before the Trump stimulus package was announced.

I don't know. They're only bringing the white collar (office) functions to Texas, not manufacturing.

hopefully, this will be a Parts Distribution Center.... then when US dealers order parts that are needed to fix our SPYD3Rs, the parts will not be held up in CUSTOMS for 2 and 3 days... this will enhance the timing to get our bikes back...

As Pete said, this came out quite a long time ago, and as I recall they won't be making anything in the US. So much a do about nothing.

I don't think so since Bombardier sold off BRP in 2003. So they are now unrelated companies.

Why do parts need to go through customs from the parts distribution center in Wisconsin?

Office jobs, not manufacturing or distribution;

BRP has manufacturing in Juarez, Mexico across from El Paso. I think the F3 is made there with their offroad four wheelers.

It's just an office staffed with mostly administrative type people. They want to be able to coordinate their US operations from there, rather than Montreal. They already have marketing and sales people in the US.

Hi Pete,

Re: a fully dedicated North American business unit

If it is for North America, I see little improvement. If they said 'fully dedicated US business unit' then I might expect something different.

Maybe it is just a typo,

However they phrase it, it doesn't translate into more factory jobs in Texas.

The more business's in the good old USA the better! Regardless of what type(s) of jobs it brings

Pete is correct. Plano is one of the largest corporate headquarters cities in the nation. You won't find any blue collar workers there. I'm guessing this has more to do with the future assembly locations either in the USA or Mexico than it does with any customer. It also may be easier to recruit executives to Plano than Icebox du Francais, Canada. I'm told people can more easily pick up Texican than French. :)
