Not much into the older classics. I'm more of a "Home Alone", "Christmas Vacation" or "Elf" kind of guy.

My favorite holiday movie would have to be "Diehard".

This is easy" "It's A Wonderful Life"

But there are lots of good ones out there:
"A Christmas Carol"
"White Christmas"
"Miracle on 34th Street"

"Christmas Story" and "Die Hard" make the list of newer classics!

:agree: That is my favorite too. I also like "Christmas Story" with the leg lamp (I hope that is the correct name of the movie).

In 2012 a bunch of us in our family thought it would be fun to enter the
Christmas Parade in Sonora California, just for kicks... so we all dressed up
as the characters in the Christmas Story and make up a float we even had the
soundtrack from the movie along with the big HO HO HO playing and you will
shoot your eye out.... here are some pictures, we made the front page of the local paper..

That looks like it was fun, Dave.

My favorites are Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life. Miracle on 34th Street (the old B&W version with Natalie Wood) is right up there, too.

Another I like that is a bit off-beat is "Miracle in the Wilderness." It's about a pioneer couple with an infant son who are captured by indians. The chief plans to kill the parents and raise their son as his, in revenge for the death of his own son. But tensions are eased when the wife relates the story of Jesus with all the characters imagined in Native-American terms.

I have the VHS for L & H Babes in Toyland. I also watch that one. It is actually pretty classy for an operetta. Good music and signing.:yes:

"It's A Wonderful Life" hands down for me. I think the animations were way ahead of their time. And I have several personal connections with the film. First off, I always have been in love with Donna Reed, the movie was released the year I was born, I spent my adult life in the banking business and my name is Bailey. So, it is MY movie.....

Two movies come to mind. Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, and White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.

It doesn't appeal to some, but "Love Actually" is one of our favorite Christmas films. It's certainly not a children's movie but it is, in its own right, funny and charming and sad and honest. To each his own even with regard to Christmas movies.
