If you have not seen this film, please take the time to do so. It is free on Amazon Prime. It portrays the dignity with which our fallen are treated on their journey home. God Bless them all. Here is a trailer. Semper Fi, Marine.

I was on a flight one time where a fallen one from the ME conflict was being taken home. IIRC he was loaded into the cargo bay after all the passengers were on board and then the escort serviceman boarded. At the destination the escort was deplaned first and everyone stayed on board until the body had been removed from the plane. Very dignified and respectful. Wish I could remember it more clearly.

That is the normal process. The aircraft captain usually makes an announcement after the plane lands to prevent the normal exit crush. In my experience every passenger has been very respectful.
