Joe and I had been at Red Rock Rally for a week and arrived back in Las Vegas on Friday. We had tickets to see Imagine Dragons at the new TMobile Arena on the Strip. We parked behind the Tropicana Hotel and wondered what was going on as everyone around us was dressed in Western gear. We never knew there was an outdoor venue two blocks away or that there was a 3 day country music festival going on.

When we were walking out of our concert I had this scary feeling remembering what happened at the Ariana Grande concert, where a bomb went off as the arena emptied after her show, but I assured myself that nothing like that would ever happen here in Las Vegas. I went to bed early last night and at 2:00 am I woke up as my phone chirped at me with a Facebook message asking if we were okay. It took a while before I found out what was going on, and this morning I am seeing TV coverage with a camera view from Mandalay Bay that shows where the shooter was located and I see exactly where our car was parked on Friday.

What a horrible tragedy.

How could he get that rifle into a hotel room?

How could he get that rifle into a hotel room?

Take it apart and carry it in a duffle or suitcase.

Every hotel I've stayed at has more than just the front door. You go in thru a side or back door, out of view of the front desk. The rifle or rifles used were probably in rifle bags.

:pray::pray: to all.

don't know how accurate the news is now-a-days... they reported the shooter had 10 rifles in his room ... what would possess someone to want to kill innocent people ??

This is a horrible tragedy and definitely not the time for political or gun comments one way or another.

To the families/friends/loved ones or those killed or injured in this horrific incident. You never know what any individual will do at any given time. Something like this can happen in ANYONE'S town, doesn't have to be a big city, could happen in Smallville USA. Or, like in my small little rural town where two dead bodies were found in an abandoned house; parents killed by their son for the money. I guess my point is, there is no accounting for crazy. And I think this guy was.
