Get your Spyder up to 60 and hit the brakes, but before you come to a complete stop exhilarate back to 60 and hit the brakes again without stopping. Do this 5 to 6 times after the last time ride without stopping to allow the brakes to cool down. The ideal is to cook the pads to set them.

The hard part is finding a road you can safely do this on.

Good advise!

You will probably smell hot brakes. That is what you want. This process cures the resins used to bind the abrasive material in the pads.

The key is not to come to a complete stop. Usually down to about 20 mph is good. You don't want the very hot pads clamped against a stopped rotor. This creates hot spots and uneven heating/cooling of the rotor. This uneven heating and cooling is what warps rotors. So a moving cool down period after any hard or extended braking is important if you want to avoid warped rotors.
