For those of you that don't belong to or follow ABATE of NJ, I received this email. Not commenting, just passing on the info:

To all VETS, WE NEED YOUR HELP,
ABATE had a meeting with NJ State Senator Steve Sweeney, President of the Senate. The discussion was about the “arbitrary” rules that the MVC added to the VET Motorcycle License Plate Bill. Most egregious was the 500 plate minimum order and the almost 10 months to “develop the process required to obtain the plates”. Senator Sweeney has agreed to address the time lag, and indicated the possibility of significantly reducing the waiting period. What he requested was some indication of interest from our Veteran motorcycle riders.
To accomplish Senator Sweeney's request, ABATE has established an online survey to collect this information. If you are an honorably discharged VET, who rides a motorcycle and plan to purchase the new “U S Veteran” motorcycle plate, please go to the link BELOW, and answer a couple of quick questions. We will develop a list of only names and ZIP codes for the state. This collection will end in 30 days, so do not delay. Please make this information known to as many Veterans and Veteran motorcyclists as possible. We need to show support for this bill. Please note that completing the survey does not put you under any obligation to purchase a Veteran license plate.

Thank You,
ABATE of the Garden State
