Has anyone tried to put a Harley trunk on a F3 Limited? I'm sure that fabrication of a mounting bracket would be the biggest challenge. The factory trunk is just too expensive for my budget.

No--but I bet it would be exciting to pass a group of Hells Angels:yes:

HD accessories for bike--less expensive than BRP stuff? What is the world coming to? :roflblack::roflblack:

And yes, I want to be there when the Hells Angels drive by.:yes:

I have this one on my Kawasaki Nomad, https://www.amazon.com/TMS-TBOX-JK1001-K-Motorcycle-Luggage-Backrest/dp/B00513G82U. the shell is a little thin but it has held up for almost ten years.

Very nice Nomad.:bowdown: I had the 1500, but did not add fairing or trunk. That particular one stayed bone stock. Kawi builds good stuff.

I thought mine came with the trunk that you can put 2 helmets in and it was a Limited. Your's didn't?

Here is an idea I am leaning towards - saw it on "the spyder experience" FB site.

The box can be purchased from eBay for less than $100 and the luggage rack can be fabricated as shown in the pic from the OP or purchased.

As I understand it, the top trunk is a $2,000 add-on with installation.

I'm looking at building one but it just says "Included"

153120153121153122153123, If you do a search on E-bay you will find about 5,000 options .... all sizes, shapes, colors, with or without racks, passenger padding etc .... you can narrow it down a lot buy using the chart on the left ( always click FREE shipping ) ..... It's a bit time consuming but worth it ...imho ..... good for a rainy day :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: .... Mike

You can get a nice rack from Baker Air Wings for $250. Then you can mount any box you want on it.153133

The 2017 limited comes with the box, but the 2016 limited didn't. It can be added. As for me, I would rather have the 2016 and then add the box. That way you will end up with the larger sprocket for better acceleration.

Joe is working on fabricating one for my F3T. We are waiting for the box and one of the mounting options to arrive..

We purchased a new F3T last week and I liked the looks of the top case in advertising pictures but none of the dealers in our area had one in stock we could actually look at. I ordered one on line and am VERY disappointed in the quality of this case after spending $1500 then had to spend another $200 to get the side panels to match the bike paint job.

Ive been riding Harley dressers for 25 years and am used to a much heavier stronger trunk with metal hinges. The Can Am top case is thin light weight plastic with plastic hinges that I dont think will last as long as the bike will. It does look good with the bike and saddlebags but if I had to do it over again I would buy aftermarket for less money.

Also I mounted it myself, it was pretty simple to mount and the directions on the Can Am web site were good. If anyone wants a black top case with metallic silver side panels you can have this one for $1700. If not I will use it and see how long before something breaks.

That's a after market rear tour pac. If it works go for it.

The tour pacs from Harley are way more money than posted.

I like the new trunk on the late F3 they have now by BRP

I've been looking at different options to add a top case on my F3T.

The BRP one is just way too expensive and way to cheap. Adding to that that my wife was not as confortable as she is with my actual backrest, I needed to find something else.

I wanted to keep the BRP Backrest so I haven't found any rack that fits my needs.

I ended up building one.

Here's the results!

The beauty of it is that you can add a box or not and everything is still accessible.

That should work. What brand make model is your top case. It looks great in your pics. Had I been able to actually look at and check out the new F3 Can Am BRP top case I would not have purchased it. As stated previously I am not impressed and very disappointed.

My case is a Shad 58X.

As it is in the picture, it is in it's smallest configuration. It can expand on 2 more different size. Really a great case and I really like the fit.

Trunk? On a Harley 2 wheeler????
You must be referring to the TOUR PAK!

Has anyone tried to put a Harley trunk on a F3 Limited? I'm sure that fabrication of a mounting bracket would be the biggest challenge. The factory trunk is just too expensive for my budget.

MagYukon, Thanks for showing me that Shad Case, didn't know it existed and I know they make good topcases, had a different one on my last bike. I've tried to get my wife to consider a F3 Limited with the factory case/backrest option, but she says it's too low compared to our RTL's backrest. Using the taller backrests with a Shad 58X (or 59X) on a deck might be the fix...

Check on eBay, this is what I have on my F3S but it'll also work on the T, the luggage rack is from Baker Built, check out the home page, they have a link, you just have to figure out your mounting to the rack. I set mine up for easy removal and leaving the luggage rack on, I also added a third brake light, LED, mounted to the bottom of the trunk. I can have the whole thing off in 10 minutes. The last 2 pictures are the box mounted on my bike:yes::doorag:

I have the adjustable back rest and I don't believe the Bakerbilt rack will work with it. Wife loves the adjustable backrest so I don't won't to take it off unless I find a tourpack that is comfortable for her.

We went with the BRP Top Case designed for the F3. It integrates beautifully onto the F3. It also has the same large backrest from a stock RT, as well as 2 more speakers. Also some of the aftermarket ones look like they are too far back. Just don't look right IMHO. Case, matching sides, amp came to $1700. A bit much. But, looks great. Tom :spyder:

I would prefer to keep the BRP passenger backrest like you did - your setup looks nice to me.

I need to find the rack already made or find someone near me to fab one that will work.

I used the MBL Innovations Luggage Rack with their Givi Monokey adapter to repurpose the Givi Monokey Trunk from my R1150R153289

Hi,

I bought it from a dealer in Quebec.

But, in all my research, I've been in touch with someone from Shad USA. Maybe you can try to contact him ?
