:opps:What is the best repair manual for a Can Am 2015 RT and where to purchase it? I do most all my service work.

I guess depends on how deep into the cycle you wish to go , I purchased the " tech spark studio " copy for a 2012 r-t { it was o.k. I had too use older computer to run the disk } I also refer to a lot of you tube video , and cycle shop exploded photos , and here on spyder lovers to gain a little more information to make up my mind on " if it is worth the effort " so tech spark is from amazon wasn`t too pricey ... might be better ones out there , might even find an original manual on line but will cost more

Paper or dvd or download...? I ,and many others, have the Green manual purchased from ebay for about 20.00...some like the paper version and print it out in part or all. The BRP manual is rather expensive. Here are others I'm sure...:spyder:

I have found the Green manual very useful and accurate. I print out pages as needed or bring the laptop out to the garage when working.

There are only three manuals available, a printed one only from BRP through your dealer for many $$$, the Spark tech studio one, and 'all the others'. The 'all the others' one is the same manual sold by some unknown outfit through a half-dozen or so websites and names. Green Manuals and Midwest Manuals are the two most commonly used names. It's a PDF copy of the factory manual, but there's no guarantee that addendums issued after publication will be in it. As far as I know no one has produced an independently created manual like Clymers has for other m/cs.

I got the Sparks manual at Amazon. It is a wonderfully made digital manual. Pages flip like a book. Me too. It is very good.

Not sure if it is technically "legal" or not though.

I assume that includes the one with BRP in the URL address.....making it LOOK like an official BRP site when it really is not ??

It really shouldn't surprise you. It's a money issue. Haynes and Clymers are reputable publishing houses. To produce a manual they would have to develop it from scratch, a time consuming and expensive proposition. From Roger's experience with Spyder Codes BRP is not going to make available any information that can be incorporated into a manual, and Haynes and Clymers aren't going to break copyright laws by simply copying a BRP manual. They're too easy to find and go after if they did. So the economics don't pan out for them.

On the other hand, there are unscrupulous individuals and companies who thumb there noses at copyright laws. You won't find a physical address for Tech Spark Studios, although according to a Whois search the website owner lives in MA, but that could be fictitious. The other outfit that produces the Green Manual, also know as Midwest Manuals aka Best Manuals aka who knows what all, is not traceable by ordinary means. Also, all corporate pages in the Can Am manual PDF, such as publisher info and title page, are missing. I suspect that the outfit that produces the Green Manual has an inside contact in the company that publishes the printed version for BRP who leaks a PDF copy of it to Green. It might even be a Chinese company. Since I've never looked at a printed BRP manual I don't know where they are printed. But if Green is in a foreign country that has no reciprocal copyright enforcement agreement with Canada BRP is up against it trying to shut them down, if they really wanted to.

It might be that BRP is willing to look the other way since there is some market demand for Can Am manuals but most likely not great enough to justify tracking down and shutting down Tech Spark and Green. Since both outfits have been producing manuals for several years it's easy to believe they're either very deeply hidden in the Internet, or BRP takes a laissez faire approach to them.

I personally don't like to buy any pirate or counterfeit publication or s/w, but since BRP does not offer me an option to buy the manual in PDF format, and I want a PDF copy, I end up buying the Green manual. Why BRP does not sell a PDF copy of their service manuals to owners is a mystery to me.

In short, when you're competing with counterfeiters who get away with it, it's hard to make money.
