My insurance is up for renewal. Last year's quote for the NEW SM5 was $806 with 1000 ded and value of $15000.
What value are you 2008 model owners using for your renewals? They are still keeping it at $15k and premium is at $795

The lizzard doesn't sell bike insurance in Michigan.
Progressive wanted $1500 a year!
State Farm was around $750 for a year.

$439 full coverage on 08 model... just got it last week through progressive and that is with a moving minor violation and a prayer for judgement speeding ticket. Both infractions fall off in Dec of this year.
Now... I did 500 ded, and minimum liability. - But I'll have to check again on the liability coverage.

Geico does not insure in Mass. same for All State, NationWide etc.
Progressive just started, competitive and lower, but I read reviews of horrible service, only aftermartket parts (non available for our Spyders) and really bad reviews when filing a claim.
So I am going to stay with Commerce.
But what $$$ value do you use for the not new anymore 2008 model?

My Insurance puts it full replacement cost for the first 2 years then it depreciates. I have State Farm at $716 every 6 months. :yikes:
Only place that was cheaper was Geico and the coverage wasn't as good. They wanted $1100 a year, Progessive wanted $2300 a year.

Not sure if they can write in Mass but they know the ins and outs of Spyder Insurance. http://www.bikersins.com/spyder_ryders.html
Another thing to check is how they have the Spyder rated. Allstate's default type is Sport Bike. I challenged that and got it rated as Sport Touring. That cut the quote in half from $600 / year to $280 / year with 250/500/100 and $500/$100 deductibles.

I got Foremost at $342 a year full coverage 3500 for accessories and tow-in and roadside assistance. I have over 40 years on a bike with no accidents’ and no tickets. With different ages and times on a bike the rates are going to be all over the place. Your zip code also makes a diffrence.

Renewal update:
Since my town excise bill came in with a value of $9000, the insurance company was abel to take that value and lower my premium.
Not exactly sure of all the ramifications, good or bad. They would have used $15k as the value for a used bike.
My premium was 795, now it is $564.
I guess if push came to shove, in a totaled claim, I would force them to use the NADA highest value of $12k. Or maybe not. ?
