While it's all still fresh in my head: I figure that perhaps I should give my impressions of my 2014 RT Limited, and how it compared to my 2010 RT A&C.
1. The 2014 felt as if it carried more weight on the front-end. the 2010 felt light in cpmparison.
2. As delivered: the 2014 handled really well. There wasn't much needed to improve things. The 2010 handled about like a 300 pound hooker on a featherbed. :shocked: It took a set of Elkas, and a RonBar to make it really feel good in the twisties.
3. I REALLY liked the lower operating rpm of the 1330 triple. It was much easier to ride than the 998 twin.
4. The 998 sounded better... nojoke
5. the 1330 was smoother and quieter.
6. The 1330 got a full 20% higher fuel economy.
7. The 1330 was both quicker, and MUCH faster than the 998. The 998 ran out of wind at about 97 mph.... the 1330 kept pulling right on through 105 mph.
..........Reliability..........
1. My 998 had two throttle bodies, a new throttle position sensor, a center strut for the windshield, and a brake light switch replaced. My 1330 needed a new cruse control switch, a speaker blew out, and the radio receiver never worked right.
(The speaker is probably my fault! :D)

The mileage on the bikes was pretty similar: 17,208 on the 2010, and 18,025 on the 2014. (Although the newer bike picked up it's miles much quicker!)

I know that the 2018 will be virtually identical to the 2014, so I expect few surprises.

We'll have to see what 2019 brings for the rest of you! :thumbup:

Thanks for the write up comparison. Since I have both to ride, (2011 & 2014) I find most of the items very similar. Have not needed any repair parts or driving mods done on the 2011 so far. Both of mine are 25K & 26K on the miles so far.

The 2014 has remained flawless.

Don't know about the hooker, and if I did, I would not say. :roflblack::roflblack:

Honestly, this is all a symptom of having ordered the Anniversary model and your anticipation of its arrival. This is going to drive you to madness.:banghead:

Homestly, I cannot imagine how your wife is going to deal with you until it arrives in OCTOBER!

Hey I too have a comparison to make. Bought an 11 RT new back in the day. Sold it in 2014 and in 2015 bought a low mileage 08 GS. For me, personally, the GS is infinitely more fun to ride. It's quicker, lighter and handles better even on the highway. You know when you're on the highway and pass a semi? The RT would shake and drift (even after I put the heavier sway bar on). The GS stays steady and true. Cornering with the GS is better too. You can go into the twisties faster and tighter. I absolutely love it.

Maintenance? Don't even get me started. The RT was one thing after another. The tach stopped working. The brake cylinder leaked. On and on and on. Granted, it was all warranty stuff and BRP handled just about everything (thank God!) but it was constantly in and out of the shop. The GS? Third season now with no issues. Well almost none. I'm a firm believer in less is more. The GS is an absolute dream (don't get me wrong though, I loved the RT too!).

Just thought I'd throw my two cents into the ring.

Oh, and from the sorry Bob, I just couldn't resist department, does anyone even know what eponymous means? Without looking it up (no cheating).

Agree 100% I have to admit that I ryde more alone as the groups around are mainly RT's and the F3's can keep up if they have he right ryder...:gaah:but hey...there is room for everyone...:ohyea:
