I am having trouble with my spyder. I keep getting a lot of faults causing it to go into limp mode. This happens at various times and, conditions. On a hot day, if I ride a distance ( 4 or 5 miles ) and, stop for a short period of time and, restart it, it stalls several time and, won't idle without keep the rpms over 2000 , and, it runs extremely rough until I go approx. 1/8 th of a mile then it smooths out. If I am riding it in town, and the temp goes up a little over the center mark and stop, it will go into the limp mode, if I ride a while and the temp. drops a little and, I shut it off and wait 2 to 3 minutes then it will restart and, run normal. When it goes into limp mode, I get errors - DPS, a ? steering fault and, some others that are not listed. I have had it to the dealer twice and, all they do is reset the faults, which, does not clear the problem !! ANY suggestions ????????????????

Have you tried pulling up any active fault codes, when it starts acting up? :dontknow:
Stop the bike, but leave it tunning...
Lay a thumb across both the "Mode", and "Set" buttons.
While holding them down, push in the turnsignal switch: just like you were cancelling out the turnsignals.
Any active codes will pop up on the Main Screen.
:lecturef_smilie: Write them down! :D

One more push of "Mode", and your display goes back to normal...

How old is the battery? Odd things start happening when these batteries start to die.

The heat and stalling make me wonder if the vaccum hoses are also dried out and cracking which isn't always easy to see.

Funny electrical stuff happens when you have a low or dying battery. Do you have a new one yet on your 2011? We just replaced ours early in this season.

:welcome: since I see this is your first post.

I recently had the same issue with my 2011 RT-S, turns out the dealer told me some of the vacuum lines needed replacing. Not a costly fix.
