Lamonster has a key holder for $11.95, they keep selling out but he keeps getting more in. That's a shipped price. Check it out

Just put the key on a normal key ring. The hole is already in the key frame, you just poke through the rubber cover.

I prefer the plastic scabbard that come with the keys on its own ring. I don't want extra stuff on the key when it's in the ignition lock.

:agree:. In my view, the OEM plastic scabbard as designed is an excellent solution.

Nobody ever said that this HAD to be done to a perfectly good key... :D

Leave it in the Spyder. No one can figure out how to start it anyway.

Best answer! ~ Although the pre-existing hole under the rubber is a close second. Is that really true? (Dealer never mentioned this, but told me not to drill hole in key lol.)

About four years ago during a project at work we had some people from back east come out that was in charge. Darius was telling me how he rides Boulevard C-50, and is missing out on the riding season where he lives. I ask him if he wanted to take my (then) RS for a spin? After he said yes, I toss him the key still in the sheath, and go to get my helmet for him. I walked out just in time to see him take off down the parking lot. Funny thing was he was thrown off because no hand brake, but was still going slow enough to down shift for the u-turn. Lesson learned was not to assume nobody can figure out how to start the Spyder.

I'm pretty sure the start up screen tells you exactly how to start em up.

The newer Spyders no longer have the delay to start so would be easier for a non Spyder owner to steal if key is left on ignition. I personally prefer the original plastic key holder that comes with the machine. BRP #710001102.
