We got here safe and sound after a very enjoyable afternoon ride. We picked up our newest SpyderLover, Plumbmaster in Port Huron.

From there we headed to London Ontario and met with Director (Bruce) and his wife Gail and our friend Nukone and had a wonderful lunch. We then were "directed" by Bruce for a nice back roads ride to the Falls. Three hours later we were here. But first you have to see Bruce's driveway, he was prepared for us.

Awesome!

Glad you made it OK. And I knew you'd post pics as soon as you all arrived. See you for supper...I'm just cutting down my windshield some more before we leave.

Here is Youtube video of part one of the trip, this isn't the best video, for the banner signing I will use the high quality. And I hate the sound of my own voice but I left my commentary in so that you would know who is who.

Man, HDX, you and RoadDog and tatt2r are all quite attached to that Sharpie.

There's no room for The Banner in the trunk anyhow, so we'll just pass that permanent marker around...

Hi Jay & Cindy. Noukone is planning to come back to Gatlinburg this year. We will see you there!
The Niagara Falls trip was great. It was great to see Brian (bjt) and Deb (dltang) again, as well as Greg, who we met last year on a Spyder ride to Letchworth State Park in New York, and to meet a bunch of very nice folks for the first time, some of whom I have corresponded with by email.
We made it home last night in just a shade over two hours - slabbed it all the way, since it was dark anyway, so no point in taking the scenic route. The Spyder ran like a champ. The more I ride Red October, the more I like this machine!
The banner cleared customs successfully, although it sounded like it was touch and go for a little while there. Maybe jeuchler will post about the adventures he and Barb had getting across the border.:D Welcome to Canada, eh?
All in all, a wonderful couple of days ryding!

I've just returned from mass. The people enjoyed the Niagara Falls illustration. Ade and I arrived home at 1055pm. 5:30 sure came quickly. Still, we wouldn't have wanted to miss the opportunity to meet so many spYder enthusiasts. We enjoyed meeting the group AND inspect the spYders and many accessories and mods.
Safe travels to all returning home.

ED. NOTE: This famous skit was but one of several renditions of the famous “Slowly I Turned . . . Inch by Inch . . . Step by Step” Vaudeville skit. The “trigger” in Abbott and Costello’s Lost in a Harem was the word “Pokomoko.” The Three Stooges did their version in Gents Without Cents in 1944 – the same year as Lost in a Harem, using the word “Niagara Falls” as the “trigger.” Lucille Ball did a rendition as well, in I Love Lucy Episode 19 entitled “The Ballet,” which aired on 02/18/1952, using the word “Martha” as the trigger. Looks like a great trip! I love the falls - it has been over 20 years since my last visit.....we went out on the boats that get near the falls - the roar of the water and all the mist make this a must do....if it is warm.

Enjoy your trip - getting away like this is priceless!\

What time did you get home and how was the trip? Did you get into the rain?

It turns out it is a 4 1/2 hour ride home. That time can take longer depending on how long customs holds you. Luckily for us, we got through pretty quickly. We stopped at grocery store on the way home as well, I knew I wouldn't feel like going back out. So we got home a little after 5:00pm. Not too bad. Hey Father, I would love a copy of your sermon if you have one. Faith is always a good sermon and if you used this trip as an illustration, I would love to see it. Glad you got home safe and sound and sorry it was so late.

So sad that I was unable to meet up with you. It was a FANTASTIC day. Collingwood was great, but it would have been even MORE awesome to have met up with you guys in the Falls. I guess we'll have to wait until Gatlinburg

I finally got around to downloading the photos I took on our trip to Niagara Falls. The first one is a shot of my driveway before bjt and dltang arrived. The second is Spyder owner Noukone Thammavongsa, who came to lunch but was unable to go on the trip. Third, we have Brian (bjt), and the last two were taken during our day trip around the Niagara Falls area.

Cheers,

Bruce

Here are some more of the pics I took on the Niagara Falls trip. First is the walk we took down inot the gorge (bjt went right to the water's edge, but some of us were not comfortable hiking in our motorcycle boots and carrying our helmets, so we went about halfway down and then returned to the top.) Second is a shot taken in the Travelodge parking lot of my wife Gail (centre) talking to Addie (did I spell that right?), Father Leo's wife, with Father Leo to the right. Third is a pic of our crew gathering around one of the machines, checking out mods. Third is John (jeuchler) and Deb (dltang) and finally Father Leo signing the SpyderLovers banner.

This was the first out-of-town ride we did this year, and it was great! Thanks again to Deb and Brian for wrangling this one.

welcome first of all. We didn't have any issues either direction, Jeuchler of course has a far different story. It is pretty random. I would say if you have a passport use that over your drivers license. Know where you are going and your purpose and where you are staying. Other than that be polite and willing to talk about your spyder.:2thumbs:

Nice photos Bruce. I love even recent memories of good trips.

Thanks Deb! Also, I agree with your advice to srubida to bring a passport. A driver's licence is not proof of citizenship. Technically, even a conviction for DUI makes a person inadmissible for entry into Canada from the U.S., and the same goes for Canada into the States, but in reality a lot of people with convictions for these types of offences do go back and forth across the border.
On a motorcycle, or on a Spyder, I always turn my engine off at the Customs booth so I can hear what the Customs Officer is asking. I also remove my sunglasses. These are small things, but I believe they help smooth the way.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hang in there Roger! It was a little over a year after my first test ride when I bought my Spyder, and I can tell you the wait was worthwhile. You are right - the Spyder is more than just a road machine; it is a memory maker.
