The way I read the safety recall (http://www.usa.philips.com/service/senseo/index.page), it's not too much of an exaggeration to say that my new Senseo machine may get an "obstruction to the overpressure relief system..." due to use of medium or hard water means, like, it could blow up...? :coffee:

Check if you have one. I want to be perked up, but not like that.

I purchased mine online, so the vendor sent the recall notice email.

These coffee makers really do blow up. Mine did. Walked into the kitchen 2 days ago and it looked like someone had put an M-80 in the top. :yikes: The hinge was just barely holding the top on and there was coffee everywhere. I did not know about the problem until I saw this post. I wish now that I would have taken pictures.
