So I'm new to the Spyder world. I thought I might take a look at Spyderfest and maybe plan a trip to go. I can't find any useful information on their website. Dates, Events, Why I should go, Who will be there... No call to action to actually register. I don't want to make my first post here negative but really they need to take a web marketing 101 class. So for all of you that have been there.. Why do you go and why do you continue to go. Thanks for you help :)

Hi Shawley, I'm Cindy from Tricled. Supporting vendor here in SL and vendor in Spyderfest, customizing Spyders with our LED lights .
We have been attending S-fest since the 1st year.
It's a fun event, the people are great, the events are fun with a lot of rides and activities organized.
I can't tell you much about the rides of we are always working.
But the after hour activities after vendor village is closed (after 6pm) are great.
They changed it from year to year, with banquet, pie-run, BBQ, etc.
But this is why we keep attending every year, to meet the people, new and old friends/customers.
Very welcoming communities that treat you like an old friends or family..
and this is why we keep coming back as a vendor and attending Spyderfest!

Yes, the organizer is a bit late this year, but stay tune.... and I don't think you will be disappointed to attend this new event and experience for you.

I'll start with info like April 26th - 30th, Springfield MO. in-town activities split between Hotel areas and the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds (where vendor Village will be). All this I just gleaned from their Spyderfest.com website. I've talked with numerous folks that have attended in past years and it's one of the best (largest)
Spyder events, certainly in the central US area. This will be my first more to meet all the great Spyder Riders and vendors and see their wares.
I do know they have daily group rides or folks create and announce their own group rides as they meet up. There's drawings and group dinners and gatherings of Spyder riders every day / evening / night.
There's more information on the forum in other threads like Spyderfest Registration (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?100564-Spyderfest-Registration), Spyderfest Vendors (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?101878-Spyderfest-Vendors), than on this year's website so far., but here's more to help.

Last year was my fiest trip to spyderfest. Before we left there we knew we would be going back this year. Yes they are late posting things this year but seen thatit is suppose to be poasted this week. Our ride out there is 600 miles but well worth the trip. there is a lot of things from vendoes to rides and other stuff and well cook out and yhe farewell dinner.

It's kinda like...why do you go to a street fair, a carnival, a class reunion etc. It's the people the vendors the events and most of all the ryde there and the memories made. You get to meet many of the folks you communicate with via social media, facebook, sl etc. Many happenings just happen when your there besides the ones planned. They have done an amazing job of making it better each year and it has grown so much they had to move to another city..nojoke You may not find a lot of advertizing but maybe word of mouth gets the job done. Even you have heard of it...:roflblack: If you go you will not be disappointed. After all 500 miles is a day trip and many travel thousands of miles to come and spend days on the road....It's the crown jewel of spyder events......

I have attended Spyderfest since it was in Cuba, MO and then became very popular and outgrew that area...moved to Springfield. I have attended since 2011. I ryde 2000 miles to get to Spyderfest. This will be the first year I have had to say NO to attending. But already know that I won't miss in 2018. It has the best of the best from fellow spyder ryders to wannabe ryders to vendors to activities. I can say without any reserve that if you don't enjoy Spyderfest...it may be that you had expectations beyond what any rally can provide.
Sure hope you go and "milk it" for all it is worth. You can use my share of WOW (but only this year)...I'll be back next year..

I attended Spyderfest last year. I rode from Washington D.C. and linked up with a group of people I met here in Spyderlovers who had never met before. We had a blast on the ride there and the ride back. For the most part, we stuck together for the event, I think all but one of us were new and never been to Spyderfest. We did not really participate in any of the arranged rides as there were a lot of people on those rides. We did do some exploring on our own down into Arkansas and Southern, MO.

I recommend going at least once. Will I make it a yearly trip? Probably not...only because there are so many other events and I would like to make one or two a year. If you do go, I recommend trying to stay at the Best Western Coach House. Cruzr Joe is the host and he does a fantastic job of welcoming new people and having events in the evenings for everyone at the hotel to get together. If you can, find out who is going from your area and see if you can link up and ride out together. If you do that, I bet those will be the same people to hang out with at Spyderfest. There are people that go every year. I found that they tended to stay with the people they know from previous years. I'm not saying they were in any way un-friendly...I'm just saying I'm glad I had the folks I rode out there with so I wasn't completely on my own when I got there.

Couple of tips:
1. Show up to vendor village early if you want farkles installed
2. Get the Arkansas motorcycle guide now or when you get there.
3. Visit the hotel festivities after riding
4. Bring money or a CC (vendor village is not cheap)
5. Ride the area (some of the best backroads in the country)

Those are just my thoughts on Spyderfest.

Hopefully its just a small problem the MO gang is just too busy planning & preparing (poker run locations) that the lil part of posting has ben missed. Its sure to be fun at any rate they do cram enough events to enjoy. :)
