Here is something I thought some of you Spyder riders would be interested in. I park my Spyder in my garage which has a concrete floor. Several years ago my wife got out of the horse business and decided to sell her stable mats. I kept two and park my Spyder on them. The mats are 4' x 6' and 5/8" thick rubber. They are impervious to gasoline, oil, brake fluid, anti freeze, etc. Also, this keeps my wheels off the concrete. They can be purchased at Tractor Supply or at various feed and seed stores. p.s. Can anyone straighten my photos?

My garage was carpeted before I bought it but they ripped it up :banghead: would be nice but the "Jag" seldom sets more than a few days....Is a great idea though...

I have an carport without a floor, I use the stall mats to park my spyder off the ground, they work great.

Watch Craigslist free stuff, there is carpet there all of the time, I put it on both my garage floors, makes working on anything easier, especially getting up and down.

I am curious why is it a bad idea to place the tires on concrete? I am new at a bikes, but I am also curious about the concept with a mat or carpet vs concrete floor?

Nothing wrong with it. If you're going to store a bike long-term, the mats could help prevent the tires from getting flat spots from sitting too long. I like to have a mat under mine while I am working on it so if I drop a screw or a part, its not hitting a concrete floor. I also like it because my kids know to stay away from that area in the garage.

I got mine at Harbor Freight 7.99 for 4 mats. Got 3 sets so when working on bike it's softer than cement.

I keep my Spyder in my horse barn which is totally floored in heavy duty stall mats. Best way to go.
