View Full Version : Shad Bags with Tail lights for F3

I've noticed some F3 owners have Shad Bags. Did any of those owners mount additional tail lights behind their Shad Bags? If so, how difficult are they to mount? Cost? How well do they work? And where can you purchase them?

I saw a previous thread about the Shad Bags and there was some discussion about these tail lights. I just thought I'd start a new thread solely about the tail lights.

Thanks!

I apologize, but actually the lights are not part of the Shad Bags, instead they sit behind the Shad Bags.

They look like the below lights (which belong to loisk; Spyderlovers Member):

The only bags that I know of with internal lights are GIVI.
ADMORE sells a universal kit quite pricy to me.
If it's not Plug N Play could be a challenge.
Good luck maybe someone else has input.

I went a different route. Got these bags direct from the manufacturer in China as samples. $100 for the bags and $152 for shipping. Mutazu sells them in the US but only in black. They show up on Ebay for $300 sometimes shipping is included and sometimes not. Check carefully. They say or best offer but I never could get them to go lower than $300. It includes the mounting hardware as well so a big savings over most other offerings. Here is a show youtube clip.

So I'm clear, the bags you show came with the "flashing tail lights?"

Hiya, the pic jack posted of my bike shows the non-USA rear indicators.

They dont include running/tail or brake lights.

We we are thinking of adding a led strip perhaps on the outer edge, wondering what led strips we can get which are bright enough. Will post pics if and when. Meantime, ideas welcome.

I have these. $300 shipped to the US. I also wired the lights to work as running lights, lower half, and brake lights upper half, then painted to match the bike. Additionally, I replaced the mount supports with round bar for a cleaner appearance.

Not for an F3, but same panniers.

The bags came with the led lights. The flashing was accomplished via a module I added.

Did the mounting hardware supplied for your F3 work correctly or did you have to make modifications?

I took it all back apart and powder coated it.

Came out decent and is sturdy. The mounts that came with it were plenty strong, but somewhat unattractive when the panniers were removed.

I've been trying to find a small red reflector that I could possibly put leds in. I got the same bags in white with black tops from the manufacturer and they have the disc but no sticker. Thinking about cutting a circle out of the red or white reflective tape until I can find something I like.

I just installed the Shad bags I got from Imotorsports today. The Spyderlovers discount is 10% and the service is great. That's the good stuff. The bad is that Can Am's instructions suck. I understand when instructions translated from Chinese or Japanese suck, but the last I heard, Canada is an English speaking country, so I expect better from Canadian engineers even if they are from Quebec. On the other hand, the mounts are outstanding and the bags are great. They make the bike a little hippier than I would like, but they are still narrower than the handlebars.

Unfortunately they are very likely written byt the engineers. Always the worst people to write instructions, especially for non-engineers.
