I purchased a short antenna and am having trouble getting the stock antenna out. I have a long nosed vise grips but it is so tight i can't get it to loosen. Need some suggestions from those of you that may have ran into the same problem.

Thanks
Larry

some have put a long socket over the antenna down onto the both head and used vise grips to get it unloose that way.

It looks like it is a 7MM. Would you know that for sure?

Get you a socket that is the correct size and slide it down over the antenna with the antenna sticking thru the hole in the socket! a deep well socket works best! Then get a wrench to fit the socket, and you can get it off easy!

Found a cheap 7mm ¼ inch socket drill the inside to fit over antenna and soldered a wrench to outside and it worked perfectly.U don't need the wrench but it's in the tool box for anybody to use.

A 7mm deep-well socket is the way to go!
(That: and a honkin'-big set of Vise-Grips! :D)

Thank you all for your input. The deep 7MM socket and vise grips on the socket worked. Happy Holidays...... ;)
