I believe this is what you’re looking for. Park Tool Freewheel Remover: BMX One Color, One Size https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NOO4PK..._yhflBbXQZ5VMM

when I did mine I was told it should be done when you replace the tire. I found my original bearings to be fine and didn’t plan on replaceing them next time. It’s not easy.

    Default Thanks

Are you fairly sure this is the correct size? I have already changed the bearings. I had to Fabricate a tool to get that odd nut off. I just thought I would have the correct tool next time.

That's the one that's been recommended.

I bought it recently in anticipation of doing this job at my next tire change, but haven't personally tried it. So if you also take a leap of faith and buy it, let us know if it does or doesn't work.

    Default Tool

I used a piece of flat steel about 3 inches long and a crescent wrench, but I saw where someone welded a large nut to a piece of flat steel. Seems like it's always something weird on this bike. I had a VERY hard time getting the inside bearing out......and of course, nobody stocked all 3 bearings, so better order them ahead of time. Or go to a different manufacturer. Good luck.

    Default Wheel bearing tool

Wrecking bar, Home Depot, 20 bucks. Fits perfectly, works great!! I have several. The special tool was crazy expensive for how often I would use it. Turns out, never!!
