OK, while I don't want to take away safety in any way shape or form, after reading it a few times, it seems like a waste of space and a nice slide out drawer for "SOMETHING".
Anyone come up with any ideas on what to use this for?
I was thinking a slide out cup holder but I see this would block visibility to the dash and partially the windshield.
There has got to be something we can convert this to and be more useful?

It's the thing you slide out to keep the sun from fading your LCD screen...

I think all Spyders have it? My RT does.

I'm pretty sure that was a joke, since nobody ever looks at that thing... Some people have noticed their LCD screen is a bit "dimmer" after sitting in the sun for a long period, and they pull that card out to shade it.
I'm wondering what year BRP will put a microswitch on that thing so you HAVE to pull it out in order to press the MODE button...
...For the new BRP rep on here... You never saw this post...
I think I remember something about that when I bought my first spyder. At the first demo ride, they said, it had to be read every time or the spyder would not start, even if you stalled it. When I get time or think about it, I might go look and see if it is still there.
OP, I think somebody on here (LaMonster) has a decal to stick on saying "Do Not mess with my Spyder.
Hey the sun shield gives me an idea....
How about a pull out and tuck back in "sun cover" for the dash and seat?
Light mesh material that stretches and can be pulled over the seat but opens wide enough to cover the handlebars and dash?
Hmmmm.... I know there is not much space there but might work...
Let us know if you come up with anything. So far, I like the "don't mess with my spyder " decal.
The safety card is just an example of overkill. I am guessing the legal eagles figured they could defend a lawsuit against BRP if the driver violated one or more of the safety items. Rottsa Ruck Charrie.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
I have heard from a few guys now that they come out to the parking lot and some idiot is siting on their spider "feeling it out". That would tick me off honestly.
Sticker reads:
Do not get on my Spyder unless I say you can!
This system is monitored by a "Frunk Monkey" that will kick your ass!
BRP put the safety card on the slideout so they wouldn't have to put the safety stickers on the tank as other brands must per government regulations. Having to push the mode button is a reminder of the info on the safety card before you ride. I like the idea.

I like your idea... Finding a suitable material won't be easy; but please let us know if you're able to make any progress on this one!
