If you are looking for small amounts of touch up paint for small scratches or stone bruses you will not find any. You can buy pints but most are water based and not able to be used without special equipment. There may be a new supplier out that uses urathane or the likes but they also do not supply small amounts. Seems like BRP is of now help on this one. Hopefully one of vernders will see the profit potential in supply small amounts in a kit.

Default I think what you want is out there

A couple of years ago I wanted to paint my pull-behind trailer to match my Spyder. The painter was able to get one quart (all it took) custom mixed for under a 100 dollars, I don't really remember the price as we did a barter deal for the paint job. Now I believe that you can get matching colors in pens, several size containers, from a few ounces to a gallon at a company called Color Rite. Their phone is 800-736-7980 and the web address is www.ColorRite.com. I can not offer comment on the quality of their products as I have never used any of their paints. I do know that they have been advertisers in the motorcycle magazines I read for at least twenty years. When I enquired a couple of years ago they did not have the Spyder color matches, but said they were planning on having them in the future. If you need a local paint shop to arrange a custom mix for you, be sure to have the paint code for the color you want. A search of this site will give you the paint codes. Good Luck in getting what you want. If Color Rite does carry Spyder colors now it would be nice if you would post back and let us all know. Information is Golden.

    Default Paint

I am in the process of getting my Givi E55 bag painted to match my bike, alloy orange. I contacted US Paint about small amounts. US Paint is the supplier to BRP. it is a polyurethane paint which is not legal in California, have to use water based paint. I was MILDLY shocked when I got a price quote. For the paint, solvent and clear coat they want $360 per quart which includes shipping. We went with using a body panel and matching the color through the optical scan on the computer. The job is not cheap no mater how you look at it but it matches. Your best option is to check with a local auto body paint shop to see about getting a scan to match your bike.

Some NAPA stores will scan it and make a can of spray paint for about $20 or so. I had some made for my red RT and it matched reasonably well as I had scratched the front underhang by running up on a curb when parking.

I have contacted coloright twice in the last year because some had said they are making colors for the Can AM. They told me both times that they do not and have no plans to. I will call them again to be sure but I am skeptical.

Any idea how I can find a Napa Store that does this custom match?

We just had a thread in here with some news about matching paints; but I've not been able to get my eye on it...
    But it's here somewhere!

    Default Dang it!!

Tonight I see a posting on facebook saying US Paint is coming out with a line of paints to match the factory colors. Hooray - FINALLY, a new line of paint that we can use...er ah - at least if your Spyder is not yellow! What the heck, what about us who have yellow??? What are we, chopped liver? Or orphans?

Thats ok if you want to repaint the bike but I want a small amount for scratch touch up. I also contacted color rite again just in case and no... they still do not make touch paint for my Pure Magnesium. This is beyond insanity that BRP cannot provide some small touch up pen or bottle. The plan must be to sell entire panels when you get a rock chip, buyer beware I guess.

Dick Lennox here, I own an auto body repair shop in Cheyenne Wy and use Dupont paint. All you have to do is contact a Dupont paint supplier or body shop that uses Dupont and has a color matching camera. They shoud be able to mix a small amount of paint and put it in a touch up bottle, have them mix a single stage paint that is not activated and it will work fine for small scratches. If you are going to do a whole panel have them mix base coat and then you'll have to clear coat over it.

I will do that, thanks. I have already tried the local shops and they won't waste the time to mix so I will try further a field.

At this point I might as well buy a pint from US Paint and resell it in pens / touchups. Wonder how that would go.

I wonder if they would have an accurate yellow to match the spyder yellow?

Just too bad US paint will not do spray cans. They do not need to be catilized, anything else becomes too difficult for the typical home shop.

Thanks, but several have posted that it is not a match. Noticeably darker than stock.

Not sure. I have only seen the complaints about the yellow paint...none of the other colors.
