    Default 2009 GS sputtering

    2009 GS RS5 80K+ miles

did the oil change with BRP kit 2 weeks ago after sitting for like 6 months

wife was saying it didn't want to shift after a mile or so she said it wouldn't go out of 1st

so i went and drove it and after a while it did it to me
no indication on the dash display stuck in 2nd gear would not go over 2600 rpm without stuttering
shut it off and re started it still had issue so limped it home shut down i noticed the alarm for the brake was not making noise

after a few min i started it and it shifted down to 1
tried up and down worked but did not drive it and the brake alarm worked when shut down

    any ideas
i don't have a dealer any where near to get it tested

The fact that it wasn't shifting propterly, and it's an SE5 bike: did you check the oil level?
The sputtering sounds as if it's in Limp Mode: did you see any warning lights on the dash?
(Did you try pulling up any error codes?)
