    Default Garage door opener.

Thanks for the great input of ideas.
I ended up modifying the remote clip that usually attaches to the visor of your auto.
I worked great tucked into the "Start up" pull-out instructions that are tucked into the instrument pod.
Used a little double faced tape to secure it into place. Easy access for pulling up to the door and poking the button.
The hubby was impressed. Had to do that to his RT last night after he got home. He had his in the tank glove box.
He thought it was always clumsy there for quick entry.
I did take a picture of where I have it mounted, but forgot the tablet at home.
But thanks again for the great input. New I could count on your help.

I found a good use for mine.

I shoved the bracket/clip on my garage door remote into that slot....firmly.....and it is a tight fit and stays put good.
Adding a little piece of stick-on door bumper to the button makes it easier to push.

Thanks for the idea. Used your idea and worked out great. Didn't have to modify anything on the bike, just the remote bracket.

On my RT-S I had a blank in the center of my switch bank, so I removed the blank and cut a piece of black plastic the same size. I then drilled a hole in the center and mounted a momentary push button in the hole. I attached wire and fished it up into the speaker cavity and attached water proof connectors to the wires. I then soldered wires to the circuit board of my remote and connected them to the push button connectors. I then sealed the remote and the connectors in a plastic bag which just lays in the speaker cavity. So when I approach my garage I just press the button that is conveniently located with all the other switches. Sorry no pictures. Oh yes, I screwed the switch down in such a way that if it is removed the blank will cover the holes.

They told me not to give up on my dreams, so I went back to sleep.

Then I would have to buy a smart phone. Good idea, but I still have a flip phone.

It is behind the windshield and under the instrument panel lip.

I don't ride in the rain......and it isn't stored outside.

I don't remember claiming that it would work for everybody.

I've had a door opener on my Honda for 15 years. Zip tied to the handle bar. Only need to change out the battery once in a while.
I've also had a MP player on my Honda. First one lasted 8 years, on my second one.

Check out this item, i think it is exactly what you are looking for. plug and play mod for the spyder which adds a remote button next to the key.

I made a weld on the remote control's opening button so that it is always in the pressed position. Take out the power of a cable (I do not remember which) connected to the positive of the battery's remote control and the other for ground to the motorcycle. Then placed the remote control with “velcro” next to the horn. I put a button on the keypad, same OEM style, next to the glove box.

The remote control goes with a little 12 volt battery.
Once memorized and installed it goes by pressing twice the button.
