    Default 2015 for Christmas!

Put the $ down today for a RED RTS. I'm not sure exactly when it gets here, but I had to hurry a bit to get the 4 year warrantee.
Now I get to re-buy some of the added goodies I had accumulated on the RT. Decided to wait on the adj. bars until I can see
how the scooter fits. Is the backrest worth the money? I have a full sized passenger (ahem) so the backrest cannot take a lot of space. I suppose
it could be removed when riding two up. By the way, will the full storage cover from a '11 RT fit on a '15 RTs or are they too different? Thanks.

The BRP backrest easily snaps in and out. Look for a deal on Ebay, retail is a joke.

On your new . Love that color and if we already didn't own a 14 ...........

The BRP backrest is the easiest to remove, but costs the most. Utopia backrest is less $ and adjustable, but harder to remove. I have had both, and to me a must have. I have owned both and both work well and were easy to install.
The adjustable handlebars are expensive, but well worth it. You maybe able to work a deal with your dealer to install them before you pick it up. IMHO you would not regreat buying them.

Ebay is not much better on the BRP backrest. I ordered a smart mount drivers backrest for under $200. It should be in next week. I will report my findings once it is installed.

on your new RTS! What a great Christmas gift!!

I have an Ultimate seat with a backrest. I wouldn't be without the backrest on long rides, but I usually ride solo.

I would look on Amazon or eBay.then get to dealer at setup time for the bars. Because it's a 2-4 hr job and you will save on labor

    Default Thanks!

I appreciate all the input. I have a Utopia backrest on my RT. The dealer's mech looked at the instructions

for the bars and thought it would take a lot more hours to install than the 2:45 allowed in the manual.

The dealer offered to install for the 2:45 no matter how long it takes. Between the ~$650 for the bars and then the labor.

Ouch! But I am just over back surgery the day before Thanksgiving... so probably the backrest and bars are

cheaper than more surgery? Stay safe all.

on your new Red RTS. It's a beauty.

I ended up going with a Utopia backrest (about $250). It matches the seat, and is a bit more adjustable than the OEM one. Install is a snap. Took me about 15 minutes.
