Default New Toy Hauler - High / Steep Ramp

    IMG_3583.jpgIMG_3577.JPG

New Toy Hauler. As you can see I have to back it in due to the length of the Spyder. I was trying to get the smallest Unit I could find and still fit the Spyder in the garage area. This is the new Wildwood 260RT as the 180RT would not quite fit the Spyder. I used Level blocks to give the Spyder a bit of a lift to clear the steep pitch of the ramp. Guess I'll be building me some ramps to carry along. I did pull it farther back to put most of the weight over the axles. Don't want to install an additional ramp to the existing as this also works as a patio deck as well, But I am open for suggestions.

I had (my last RV) a Toyhauler very similar to yours. It takes some getting used to before your comfortable running that up the ramp in reverse. But after a while you will get more comfortable with it. Congrats and I know you will enjoy traveling around with your own bed and bike .!

It looks as if you've got about a 10 foot long garage... Mind is only 9, and it's a bit... Tight!

I have a 36' Shockwave T29KSGDX. I run the front Jack all the way up to reduce the rear ramp angle. 16' garage but only use the last 10'. I cut a 5/8 piece of plywood 30" by 6' for the initial ramp entry. I also have 2' of "Beaver Tail" that makes trailer entry and loading much easier. This is my third Toy Hauler and have used the same method with or without the Beaver Tail. Without the Beaver Tail you might have to put 2" or 4" blocks under the trailing edge of the ramp to keep from "high centering" upon trailer entry and the plywood for ramp entry.

    Jack
All my life I wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.

I have never seen an RV with a loading ramp like this. I’ve been RVing for 20 years and have attended many RV shows as well. This is great.!

It must be !! I think (?) this idea would be appealing still to some folks that maybe want an easier way to load/unload their play toy ..! This was just very interesting to me because i’ve Never seen this on an RV before..!

Look up the Seneca ZX model: I think that 2009 may have been their last year...

    They were a really "Super-Duper": Super-C!

Actually Bob, it's a half ton pull RV. I've attached a pic with demensions, and you can see why I have to back in. I was actually trying to go smaller, but just couldn't quite fit the Spyder.

I might mention there is a wheel well (not shown) in the garage area and the cross dimension of 5' 10" is actually only 59" at the counter, thus why I couldn't drive in with the 62" wheel base.

I pretty much figured that out; when I saw the kitchen sink and it's cabinetry along side of your bike.
It looks like a really nice floorplan: what brand and model is it?

BTW: Most Toyhauler "5-ers" have a dedicated garage space. That's how I figured that yours was a TT...

Its a Forest River Wildwood FSX 260 RT. I have it backed in a bit farther than I needed to. Wanted to put as much weight over the axles as possible.
