Default Modified my own back rest for $150 total

Hello everyone. After debating whether or not I was going to spend hundreds on a backrest which would only get used very few time by my wife, I decided to research and try to make my own. I found this Harley Davidson backrest off ebay for $140 and it came with the bracket in great shape. I posted several pics showing the modifications I had to do to the bracket and the opening on the rear center plastic. Unfortunately the pics are sideways and I could find out how to rotate them. My wife rode with me this weekend and felt so much safer and enjoyed the ride. Now its detachable and fits perfect in my truck space.

It looks great! Is the backrest secure once it's install.
Also, I don't trust my $kills with a hand grinder.

Thanks alot for the encouragement. Its definitely in my plans but im up for any ideas on what I should use to make a cover. A black rubber material of some sort. Cant really glue anything just incase i ever need to take the rear cover off.
