That's a fair enough question from someone not familiar with the new different looking F3. Maybe he thought a new manufacturer had produced it. At least he was interested & was being friendly.

Nice !!
always nice to have someone to talk to when filling up..better if you have a 20 gal tank.. many people don't know what they are or where they come from. The RS, RSS have a very visable "Spyder" where the F3 dosen't so one can see the confusion. You must have seen some of the other questions they ask...

Yesterday a couple of characters at a convenience store asked me if my bike can do wheel stands. I said I don't know I never tried it. They said sorry I thought the bike was yours. I said it is mine but I never tried and I wouldn't want to on a bike this size. Where did they even come up with that question?

Was asked that once and I replied, Yes I did but in reverse since most of the weight is in the front. (Here is your sign) was pulling the trailer at the time so no chance of a demonstration.

I don't worry much about what adults say. They are all grown up and have all kinds of imbedded notions about what is acceptable and expected.
It's the kids that know. They know awesome when they see it because they have yet to be influenced by the pre-conceptions of others.
I ride through Valley Forge park a lot. It is always the younglings that point and wave.
A 10 year old kid today won't point and wave at a '68 Cuda or a GXSR or even a Harley. But they know something that looks like it came from "Star Wars" when they see it.

Asking
We had a young man come over at a gas stop today and ask questions. He said he had never seen one before. That is a good first step!

Totally agree. I love the kids. They never ask you how much it cost. They just want to climb on the thing and ride!

A senior citizen lady in a supermarket parking lot two days ago remarked, "That looks like the Cadillac of motorcycles. If my son sees one he'll want it."
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

A young fellow in the neighborhood asked me how long it takes to go from 0 to 90mph. I had to tell him that if I was driving it'd take about 20 years.

I travel around rural Missouri and Kansas. I get questions and comments from a lot of people. I welcome all. Why do I ride a Spyder? Did I ride another motorcycle before? What is it like to ride it? All are great questions that I enjoy answering. The most fun I have had was with a group of Japanese tourists doing Route 66 last month. What a great time. I love talking about my Spyder.
