BACKFIRING
In the past 2 days of riding to and from work, have heard a backfire , upon throttle de-celleration. The first I just dismissed as a whatever. Today sounded like a gunshot, scared the S*** out of me . Was also following a junker old truck . Anyone experience this type of thing or is it time to get it to the shop and looked at. Runs perfectly normal, no problems ????

Depends..!
What spyder what pipe..?? The likely culprit is the exhaust gaskets. The "Y" gaskets or a bit of tightening up. Depending on the model and year there are other points to check. Little more info would help...

Anything that bolts to the cylinder head that has come loose such as exhaust or throttle body holder or un-sealed (gaskets) or any vacuum hose that is loose or compromised will cause the backfiring.

You did not share with us what model and year of your Spyder. If your Spyder is a 2008 to 2012 GS/RS model it will be the right Y-pipe gasket has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Sorry, yes neglected the pertinent information. 2008 sm5 , stock exhaust etc, exhaust donuts replaced with in the last 8000 miles, not even, and it has 25000 miles, no performance mods ???

Plugs and wires ?
Have you changed the spark plugs and plug wires yet? That's where I would start.
