Does anyone have this Custom World trunk rack/deflector from Value Accessories? It's a bit expensive, but I like the looks of it. It is only 9" deep - not overpowering. Yet it seems like it would hold a medium size bag without hiding my high-mounted brake light. I was wondering if anyone has it, do you like it, does it hold up, and is it useful?

It sure is pretty.

seems that I have seen that rack here before. It is a nice one and you can't carry alot on to anyway so dosen't have to be bigger. Wonder if the deflector will give you more traction...??

We have that trunk/ rack defector on both our bikes,my wife 2010 black RT-S and my 2012 white Limited, and we like the look and the function.
I picked that rack because I did not want our high mount brake light to be obstructed when it was in use.
It does look very nice on the bike and I have carried a medium size bag on it with no problems.
They were purchased from Value Assessories last year.

Question: Are there mounting bolts across the top lip of the trunk also?
Apparently not, Bob. Like Gene says, you shouldn't put too much weight up there anyway. The side brackets look sturdy, but still I think I would want to put some sort of automotive adhesive tape under that forward upper lip.

Thanks, Dan & Steve, for your comments. Dan says he's carried a medium bag on it, but Steve, do you routinely carry anything on the rack? I'm wondering if those two screws or bolts on the sides can support enough weight.
Rob , remember you have to ADD the weight of what's on that RACK to what is already in the trunk, and not exceed the Total for the trunk alone. Or at least by not much more IMHO........Mike
As an alternative, this rack is from Inspector Gadget http://www.spyderrt.info/ .
I chose it partly because it, too, does allow full visibility of the high-mounted central brake/taillight. I've had it on for about 35K miles and used it heavily loaded for trips to Alaska, around the Great Lakes, New England and New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, etc. Tens of thousands of miles loaded. Works great. Available in chrome or powder coated which is what I chose. Installation is tricky but highly do-able. Just something else to consider.
I have the Diamond R luggage rack. I really didn't want one at all, but the wife insisted she needed one for her "stuff". I conceded to her wishes but told her the only acceptable one was the Diamond R in chrome. So, she bought it for me, I mean herself.
