Unfortunately I don't drive enough miles per year (7,000) in a car to justify the $120K price tag. Still, it isn't so much about the money as it is about efficiency, smoothness and quietness. I'm willing to shell out several thousand more for that. Fortunately Tesla will be coming out with a more affordable model in 2015, and they claim will be very similar to the S. My Prius was only $35K. $120K is a far cry from that, and my wife (being the logical and sensible woman she is) can't understand why I would consider spending that much money on a car that I would only drive 7,000 miles a year.
So I'll keep my Prius for a few more years. Times are a changin. More and more electric vehicles are coming out every year. Most of them I would never consider as a vehicle for me, but a few of them have my attention, and in a few more years, I'm sure I'll have a plethora of choices.

Just did.........
back to back 43 + MPG! 43.11 and backed it up with 43.85 MPG. This machine continues to amaze me. Just keeps getting better. Took it to the dealer today for first oil change at 4027 miles. Took the long way (150 miles) home. What a beast of a machine! Loving this 1330 ACE/SE6 combo!
Have a great day, everyone.

Have you tinkered around with tire pressures at all?
I went from 20, to 22 psi, and I think that it's helping with fuel economy...
...Although ride quality has degraded...
Bob, I fill up with fuel based on filling up at a couple of stations that I know have the cheapest price, so I don't usually push the RT to the 'E' mark. However, for fun, I did push it one time to 257 on one tank.
When I first got the RT, I did try to run higher pressure in the tires to increase mileage, however I found this to negatively affect handling (too much bouncing in the front) more than what it was worth, so I lowered it back down to 20 in the front; as I've found this to be the best balance between handling and fuel economy.
I should also say that I'm over 6K on the odometer and have noticed very little wear on the tires (front & rear).
