In my conversation with Rene, he invited me up to see the plant. I'm sure it would apply to any of us. Just give him a heads up. In fact, that might be an option at Spyderquest. I don't know how far of a trip it would be though.

I just looked it up and Valcourt is about 200 miles (as the crow flies) from me and probably about the same or a little less from Lake George. They also have a museum of snowmobiles on site and a history of the guy who founded the whole thing, Joseph-Armand Bombardier

Well, there's 25 hotels in Sherbrooke so there no shortage of lodging. Leave early in the Morning, meet at Derby Line, Vermont, shoot up to Sherbrooke and tour the plant, stay overnight (??????), and then head home. As long as it doesn't conflict with any of the trips I have scheduled already, I'd be up for it. My passport is all up to date and my insurance meets Canadian standards, so I'm good to go

I'd like to go there. Maybe they could have an owners' event there in late June before the production stops. With Spyderfest in Apr/May and OE 6-8 weeks later, I don't know how they could fit in a factory tour before the production run ends. Sherbrooke is 1500 miles from me. I'd be game maybe next year, instead of Maggie Valley.

There won't be any spyders in production but there is a really nice spyder rally close by in Magog Québec July 11th to 13th. I went in 2012 and had a great at time Lamont and Reggie was up there. Didn't go last year due to a back injury but plan to go this year.

Sounds interesting - Maybe we could meet somewhere and go up together. PM me and we'll see what we can work out

I had an invitation to see my $60,000 Shelby being built and I refused, why would I want to see a $20,000 Spyder being built? I'm out.
No really!

Kool - I've got a bunch of stuff going on in June and a major trip to the Gaspe in August, but July is pretty empty.

To learn a bit more about tours check this page:
http://www.museebombardier.com/en/co...and_public.htm
Have to do some more checking to see if the Spyders are built there or elsewhere.

Actually, me and two buddies, we were to Valcourt last summer. To us, the trip was about three hours.
Unknown to us at the time, you need reservations to visit the assembly plant, so we were out of luck. Plus the fact that there was no production scheduled at that time.
We were considering trying again this year, but now that I know production of Spyder's is October to June, we might have to reconsider.
In any case, the phone number for more information and possibly reservations is 450-532-5300.

Steve you put a tentative plan together so quickly it just tickled my funny humor system good. I luv it when an idea takes off like it did with you!

But they just wouldn't actually be building bikes at the time; that's all.
EDIT: Valcourt is the kind of the Corporate Headquarters, and it's 225 miles from Lake George...2 and a half hours or so!
The Manufacturing facilities are in Sherbrooke (I think! ) that's 243 miles from L.G.
What do we want to do about it?
According to the facilities info linked on this page, http://www.brp.com/en-us/company/brp...-quebec-canada, Valcourt is manufacturing and Sherbrooke is reasearch and development. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Spyderfest Magog
There is a Spyderfest in Magog July 10 to 14.
No more details available yet.
There may be organized Plant visit and Museum visit in Valcourt.
Will start a new thread when more info is available.

I would love to, but getting the time off could be rough. Might be able to get a Friday off and leave Thursday night, but I would need to ask ahead of time. Let me know what you want to do. Just sayin'...........
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............

And east Tennessee is how far ?

The official dates are 11-13 but I don't mind going up a day early. I had great time last time I was there, it's held on a huge grassy field right on the lake. Did some nice tours and a very large parade, had some stuff installed, all in all a great weekend.
I game for any plan, long story short I have a bunch of vacation time built up and I have to take it so I have the whole of July off from work.

I'm semi-retired so I can take whatever time I want so the "day early" is no problem for me either. You know a good place to stay up there. I imagine lodging might be tight.
