I wouod guess this arrangement would draw a lot of attention............ from units like the Local Police, the sherriff, State Police, Homeland Secuirty, ATF and lots of gun owners. Possibly ileagal in some areas.

Not illegal in California--here you can't carry a concealed weapon....but you can openly carry a long gun (California Penal Code 25400)....go for it....just unload it and...go for it...I double dare you!

Unload it? Why carry it if it is unloaded?

i don no. Maybe cuz getting stopped by the cops would be annoying enough--without getting arrested and locked up even. Maybe not? I don no....

IT MAY draw attention here in SoCar... but as in California and Massachusetts and some other States, it is NOT illegal to carry a 'long gun' openly... you may get harassed in some States, but it wouldn't hold water in court... not that i would even challenge the situation even here in SoCar... where the police/sherriff may stop me ONLY to look at it and say "Geeee, wish i had a piece like dat"....

and may i ask: WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR 'BILL OF RIGHTS' & THE REST OF OUR CONSTITUTION, where we are now afraid to exercise our Rights given to us by our Founding Fathers....??? maybe we have the wrong people in office...

^^ I refuse to even visit such states anymore. If we do not have conceal reciprocity, I likely won't be visiting unless for work and I have to fly where I can't transport or carry anyway. If a state is so anti-constitutional and against the people, I won't be going at all, even for work. I would however go to help restore freedom should it came to that.

You are missing out. You should see the beautiful girls on Venice beach in the summer, and the wonderful mountains to hike or Ryde in. Not to say the theater, and the sports! Also, don't forget the desert Rydes, hiking and the stars at night. Where I live the air smells like orange blossoms all spring. Not only that, but I can Ryde all year, and I go swimming from March until October.

Yeah ah we have a screwed up government. But those idiots don't live with me.

Without looking too closely at that AR; I would guess that there are a few (too many!) localities, where it'd be frowned upon...
Don't get me wrong; I dig ALL firearms! But I have a nagging suspicion, that some sort of "Assault Weapon" legislation, would bite you on the bottom over it's presence....
Do you want to know what they're going after next?
Bolt-action, magazine-fed, rifles that are equippped with telescpic sights.
    Your Dad's deer rifle??
    Maybe yours??
No!! It's now gonna be called a "SNIPER RIFLE!!"

Hopefully this thread won't be banished to never never land...

Doesn't surprise me on the "sniper rifle" issue. That part of the populace will continue to try to erode our freedoms until we have absolutely none left. It reminds me of the cake compromise analogy/story. I won't post it as it easily found via googling gun control cake.

If you ever hear Mr. ***** say "if you like you gun, you can keep you gun..." be very concerned.

There is a storm brewing in some states and CT might be the closest to touching off. I read a great news article on the massive civil disobedience going on there in relation to the new registration requirements. It will be interesting to see if the people fold, the law enforcement officers fold or if the legislators fold. If no one does, it will get real ugly real quick as the Leo's try to confiscate floor to door and arrest all of the newly created felons by passage of a "simple" law.

Lol...the presidents (small p intended) name is starred out like a cuss word. Guess the system doesn't like him either.
